Borderlands 4 is discounted 20% on PlayStation and Xbox until Oct. 22, thereby costing $55.99 rather than $69.99. The title was released around a month ago on Sept. 11 on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC via Epic Games and Steam. According to a social media post from Randy Pitchford, the CEO of GearBox Software, it took Borderlands 3 five years from the game’s launch to hold a similar console sale.
“Take advantage when it’s here! And to set expectations, it will be even longer before this kind of thing happens in the next cycle with Borderlands 4,” he wrote.
The game’s post-launch content was detailed during PAX Australia. Free content through the Horror of Kairos is scheduled to launch on Oct. 23, lasting until Nov. 4. This debuts new legendary weapons, cosmetics, and weather variants. Paid DLC is also scheduled. Towards the latter half of 2025, with no disclosed date, Invincible Boss 1: Bloomreaper is marketed to launch. This is a high-level boss variant and arena with exclusive rewards.
Borderlands 4’s Oct. 3 launch was delayed on the Nintendo Switch 2, with no disclosed release date readily available. Borderlands 4 surpassed 300,000 concurrent players on Steam alone.
