2XKO adjusts in-game store reset timing and champion mastery challenges

On Oct. 14 and 15, 2XKO has adjusted the in-game store reset timing from biweekly to weekly, and tweaked the champion mastery to be “more realistic.” These changes were made in blazing fast time, which was never really seen in other fighting game developers.

The in-game store resets deals with how frequently the cash shop resets. Some players have been experiencing issues with it, as the shop did not have the skin they wanted, which meant they would have to wait two weeks to obtain the one they desired. Now, it’s changing weekly.

On the other hand, the champion mastery issue was first brought up by James “VoiD” Makekau-Tyson, a pro player. On an X post, he mentioned that one of Warwick’s silver mastery levels required 1100 bloodlust activations, which means that players will have to play a thousand games just to be able to unlock it.

2XKO saw the post and replied that they have adjusted the champion mastery challenges. It’s unknown whether the change was only applied to Warwick or to other champions as well. It’s also unknown what kind of changes they have made.

This kind of quick response from the development team is pretty much unheard of. Most fighting game developers, such as Bandai Namco and Capcom, are pretty slow when it comes to content updates and patches.

2XKO came out in early access on Oct. 7, 2025. The game is only currently available on PC, but console releases are still planned, with the game’s executive producer reaffirming the team’s commitment to the console version of the game.
