Key points
- Remedy has adjusted FBC: Firebreak’s long-term sales forecast.
- The title has continuously underperformed since its release.
- FBC: Firebreak was released on June 17, 2025.
On October 10, 2025, Remedy published a press release stating that the long-term sales forecast for FBC: Firebreak, following the game’s release, has continued to underperform despite recent updates.
Because of this, Remedy is also saying that there will be €14.9 million of non-cash impairment, which represents “a majority of the game’s capitalized development costs and allocated purchased publishing and distribution rights.” The company clarified that the impairment will have no effect on the company’s cash position.
The press release also talked about how FBC: Firebreak’s launch-phase consumer sales have underperformed, as previously reported. Despite the first major title update of the game, which was released on Sept. 29, the game still did not reach Remedy’s internal targets.
Remedy’s CEO, Tero Virtala, mentioned that they will balance the studio’s future investments in the title. “We continue developing and improving the game in line with our updated long-term sales forecast.”
FBC: Firebreak was released on June 17, 2025, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. In August, Remedy had already mentioned that the game’s launch was disappointing due to it being added to different subscription services.
