On Oct. 12, 2025, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game was revealed at New York Comic Con 2026. This is the “first-ever fighting game for the Avatar franchise,” and the announcement was accompanied by a short trailer.
The trailer showed illustrations of Avatar characters Aang, Zuko, Korra, Toph, Sokka, Katara and Azula; however, only Aang, Zuko and Korra’s battle animations were on display.
The game’s animations — judging by what was presented in the trailer — looked smooth and had personality that encapsulates the essence of the characters. Additionally, the martial arts, one of the highlights of the series, are well-represented in the game.
Gameplay Group International is the studio behind Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game. It’s the same as the publisher of another popular fighting game, Them’s Fightin’ Herds, which was a game originally based on “My Little Pony” before Hasbro sent the developers a cease and desist letter, which led them to create the current version of the game.
As per its website, the game will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S and the Nintendo Switch 2.
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is expected to be released in summer 2026.
