On Oct. 7, 2025, Jujubee, the developers of Dark Moon, confirmed that the game will be released on Oct. 29, 2025. The press release from the developers claimed that players have compared it to Frostpunk due to the similarities between the two.

The developers insist that while the game “was built on similar foundations,” the title has a unique identity and “stands out from other games in the genre.” They also added that the game will first be available on Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store for $9.99.

Dark Moon is a survival strategy game where players will be in charge of gathering resources and upgrading their mobile bases. The Steam page mentioned that players should avoid the sun and “embrace the darkness.”

Players are tasked with overseeing the construction of a newly developed mining system on the Moob, but when a massive solar storm hit the Earth and destroyed all electronics, the objective was changed to trying to establish a connection with Earth and surviving with the resources you have.

As of the writing of this article, SteamDB revealed that the game currently has 12,532 followers. Regarding wishlists, it currently sits comfortably within the top 1000 games on Steam. It is currently unclear if the game will be available on consoles.
