On Oct. 7, 2025, Epic Games announced that it had sued two Unreal Editor for Fortnite Creators (UEFN), alleging that the two had used bot player accounts to improve their island’s engagements, resulting in a higher payout.
The two individuals are from Michigan, named Idris Nahdi and Ayob Nasser. Epic Games mentioned that what the two have done was hurt Epic and the Fortnite community. The company explained that before the two were caught, both of them were “paid tens of thousands of dollars in unearned payments from Epic that would otherwise have been paid out to other developers who earned genuine engagement from real Fortnite players.”
To clarify, Epic Games has a program in Unreal Editor for Fortnite Creators where the company pays players if their island receives engagement from players. With that being said, the two individuals essentially committed fraud by artificially inflating the engagement of their islands by using bots to engage in it.
Epic Games is seeking damages and injunctive relief, which is a court order that would make the two individuals immediately stop their illegal actions. While the company mentioned that they are seeking compensation, the court document did not mention how much the company was asking.
The company isn’t new to suing players who take advantage of their programs. Recently, Epic Games sued a cheat developer and mentioned that it is also hunting down those who helped spread the cheat and suing them too.
