Poncle has announced that Vampire Survivors will receive full online cooperative play later this year with the release of version 1.14. A new trailer showcases players creating or joining lobbies via ID, enabling up to four survivors to team up and explore stages. More feature reveals are expected next week, as the developer teased answers to long-standing community questions.
While local co-op has been available since version 1.6, this is the first time players will be able to roam independently in online sessions.
The online co-op has been in public beta on Steam since August 2025. The current test build introduces an “Online” tab in the main menu, supporting spectating, free movement for each player, grouped level-up sequences, and requires all participants to own the corresponding DLCs.
Poncle’s 2025 roadmap also includes cross-save functionality across most platforms — though not PlayStation, due to ongoing legal constraints — as well as further content under the game’s evolving “Chaos Roadmap.”
Vampire Survivors officially launched in October 2022 after an early access period that began in late 2021, and quickly became a breakout indie success. Widely credited with popularizing the “auto-shooter” or “bullet heaven” subgenre, the game features a character who attacks automatically while players focus on dodging swarms of enemies and managing upgrades. It received strong critical acclaim and fan support, going on to sell millions of copies across PC and consoles.
