Resident Evil Requiem surpassed 2 million wishlists, as announced by the game’s developer and publisher, Capcom, in a post on the game’s official X account on Oct. 2, 2025.
The ninth main installment in the Resident Evil series, following 2021’s Resident Evil Village, is set to release on Feb. 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S.
The story of the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem centers on Grace Ashcroft, an FBI technical analyst dispatched to investigate a series of strange deaths at a hotel that was also the site of her mother’s death eight years prior.
The game will bring players back to Raccoon City, the setting of eight other titles from the Resident Evil series, located in Arklay County, an isolated area in the Midwestern United States, which was destroyed during the t-Virus outbreak in 1998, an event that occurred during 1999’s Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.
Allowing players to switch between first-person and third-person perspectives at any time during gameplay, Resident Evil Requiem is built on the RE Engine, just like other Resident Evil games since 2017’s Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.
