- Guilty Gear Strive was initially released in 2021.
On Sept. 30, 2025, the developers of Guilty Gear Strive sent out a press release talking about some connection errors that might befall players if they don’t update their Windows PC. According to them, there will be a change in external services.
The press release specifically mentioned that there is a “specification change from an external service,” and that players on the Steam and Windows versions of the game “may encounter network connection errors in certain online modes if the latest Windows Update has not been installed.”
This effectively means that if players want to avoid problems with the game, they must update their PCs. Curiously, the affected online modes are only Ranked and Online Match in Team of 3. The press release did not mention anything about room matches or casuals at all.
Guilty Gear Strive is a fighting game developed by Arc System Works. The game was released in 2021 for the PlayStation 4 & 5 and PC. It was ported to Xbox One and Xbox Series S in 2023, with a Nintendo Switch version that came out in January 2025. Guilty Gear Strive is currently participating in Steam’s Autumn 2025 Sale and can be bought at half price.
