On Sept. 25, 2025, Konami revealed that the online multiplayer mode of Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, Fox Hunt, is coming out on Oct. 10, 2025. The company revealed it during its Tokyo Game Show 2025 stage event.
According to a press release, the game mode will drop people into a jungle setting and have them engage in “high-stakes, cat-and-mouse encounters that blend survival tactics with the signature sneaking mechanics that define the Metal Gear experience.”
Fox Hunt will have two game modes available for up to 12 players:
- Survival Capture
- Survival Intrude
In Survival Capture, players will go through a multi-phase mission where the aim is to capture the Kerotan frogs. Survival Intrude, on the other hand, is a high-pressure mission similar to traditional modes of Metal Gear Online. The mode applies familiar battle royale mechanics, such as a shrinking play zone, stealth and positioning.
Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater is a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. It was released on Aug. 28, 2025, for the PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series X|S. It currently holds a generally favorable review score on Metacritic.
