Developed by EA Vancouver and EA Romania and published by Electronic Arts the game was released for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and Amazon Luna.
The third installment in the EA Sports FC series, following EA FC 24 and EA FC 25, brings such gameplay improvements and new features as a complete overhaul of dribbling mechanics, enhanced artificial intelligence for player positioning, more lifelike goalkeeper animations, Competitive and Authentic distinct gameplay presets, an upgraded Archetypes system, Live Events, and expanded modes for Ultimate Team, Career, and Clubs.
Jude Bellingham and Jamal Musiala appear as the cover athletes of the Standard Edition, while Swedish former footballer Zlatan Ibrahimović is portrayed on the Ultimate Edition.
