Nintendo stealthily releases Fire Emblem Shadows on smartphones

Nintendo released Fire Emblem Shadows for Android and iOS. The company called it a “spin-off of the Fire Emblem series and introduces a new style of battles featuring role-playing and social deduction.”
Nintendo is emphasizing the social deduction aspect of the game, describing the gameplay with words such as “deceive” and “treachery” in a press release on Sept. 25, 2025.
Together with its release, Nintendo announced the game’s season pass called the Wind of the Plains. It includes Lyn’s Soul, and collecting 12 of them allows the player to recruit Lyn and use them in the game. A 7-star bow, Mulagir, can also be acquired, together with different magic skills.

Fire Emblem Shadows is the second Fire Emblem game to be available only on smartphones. The first one was Fire Emblem Heroes, which was released in February 2017.
During its most recent Direct livestream, Nintendo announced a new mainline Fire Emblem game, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave.
