- Ratatan experienced an indefinite delay back in early July.
On Sept. 18, 2025, the spiritual successor of the Patapon series, Ratatan, has entered Steam Early Access and is now available to all players. Additionally, players can enjoy 10% off from the game’s full price until Sept. 29, 2025.
Ratatan has been in the eyes of quite a few Patapon fans ever since it was first announced. The game underwent a crowdfunding campaign, which was fully funded within the first hour the campaign was up on Kickstarter.
The game experienced an indefinite delay back in early July, with the developers mentioning a few problems the players brought up during the game’s beta tests, which include a lack of visual impact and presentation, tutorial and UI being difficult to understand and the gameplay loop being unsatisfactory.
But now, the game seems to be in a good place in its Early Access, as it currently boasts a very positive review score on Steam. SteamDB also recorded a peak player count of 4,467 players, as well as Ratatan placing in the top 20 in the Steam global top seller chart.
Ratatan is a rhythm action roguelike game developed by Ratata Arts, a studio that includes some of the original Patapon developers. The game will also be participating in the upcoming Tokyo Game Show 2025, where developers will give players exclusive items to players who try out the game in their booth.
