Destiny: Rising Weekly Patch Update Debuts Ascending Lights Event

Destiny: Rising’s latest patch update marks the beginning of the Gauntlet: Onslaught Event Eclipse competition, providing exclusive rewards for the top contestants. The patch update on Sept 18 also debuted the Ascending Lights event, a mode catered towards quickly raising Team Level for Lightbearers under level 65. Ascending Lights begins on Sept. 18 and concludes on Oct. 2, providing players two weeks to catch up on Team Levels.
The update also implemented various combat and optimization adjustments, alongside fixes for numerous bugs. Here are the rest of the patch notes, according to the official blog post:
1. Combat & Balance Adjustments
- [Activity Difficulty] Reduced the difficulty of the boss in Campaign: Revelations.
- [Activity Difficulty] Shortened the Gathering a Fireteam quest.
- [Weapons] Added an attack assist effect to weapons with the Rampage, Hyperaemia, Reincarnation, and Glutton perks, as well as Exotic Sidearms: Concerto’s Cadenza perk: When the wielder’s damage against a single target using weapons with these perks reaches 30% for base combatants or 20% for elite and stronger combatants, if an ally defeats the combatant, the perk effect will still stack.
- [Weapons] Fixed the color of the damage numbers displayed when Exotic Pulse Rifle: Furies III shots hit the “Criticality Point”, making them yellow.
- [Weapons] Improved Exotic Shotgun: Octant Riot Disperser’s intrinsic trait and Catalyst Band descriptions.
- [Weapons] Improved the weapon equip, weapon filtering, and Exotic refinement screens.

- [Shadowshaper Duels] Improved the exchange shop screen to support clicking/tapping cards to view details.

- [Shadowshaper Duels] Reduced the difficulty for some Shadowshaper triumphs.
- [The Expanse – Eternity] Adjusted the time requirements for rewards.
3. New Features & System Improvements
- [Acclaim] Reduced the Power requirement for characters’ Gold Medal quests.

- [Destinations] Improved the resource models and Lightbearers’ carrying animation for Front Lines: Veridia Forest – Supply Retrieval.

- [Events] Improved data cleaning mechanics when events are closed.
- [Penalty System] Improved the trigger conditions for penalizing unsportsmanlike behavior.
- [Controls] Improved the on-screen prompts shown while playing “Go Ghost Go!” using a controller.
4. Economy & Resource Cost Adjustments
- [Pinnacle Rewards] Increased the chance of acquiring Exotic weapons when claiming Pinnacle Rewards from Gauntlet: Onslaught (does not include weekly high-value rewards).
- [Pinnacle Rewards] Increased the chance of acquiring Exotic artifacts when claiming Pinnacle Rewards from Singularity: Chaos.
- [Basic Rewards] Increased the chance of acquiring Exotic artifacts when claiming Basic Rewards from Singularity: Chaos.
- [Basic Rewards] Added Bounty Value to all Basic Rewards. Once you’ve accumulated enough Bounty Value, you can redeem Seasonal Engrams from the Bounties screen.
- [Reward Adjustments] Enhanced “easter egg” rewards from Front Lines, slightly increased Front Lines rewards at Reward Lv.7 and Lv.8, and added a chance to receive Mythic Weapon Parameters.
- [Reward Adjustments] Raised the daily Destination Reputation cap to 2,000.
- [Reward Display] Once you’ve unlocked the Season system, Team XP earned will be shown as Season XP.
5. Character & Narrative Content
- [Character Abilities] Improved the aiming accuracy for Xuan Wei’s Signature Ability: Fist of the Warpath.
- [Audio] Improved the sound effects played when receiving a Gift of the Nine.

- [The Expanse] Fixed an issue in which leaving the Treasure Hall would clear saved progress.
- [Singularity: Order] Fixed an issue in which, after completing Order VII – Stage 6, the fan would activate without a button to interact.
- [Legendary Campaign] Fixed an issue in which the character borrowing feature did not work as intended.
- [Calamity Ops] Fixed an issue in which some combatants would spawn with the incorrect tier on Specialist difficulty, resulting in lower scores.
2. Artifact & Weapon Issues
- [Artifacts] Fixed an issue in which the Rampaging Radiation artifact could not trigger the Resolute Radiation artifact’s damage resistance effect.
- [Weapon Special Effects] Fixed an issue with the display of Exotic Sniper Rifle: Izanagi’s Burden’s special effects.
- [Weapon Special Effects] Fixed an issue in which the model of the Fusion Rifle: Rev-7 Fusillade’s muzzle was blocked.
- [Weapon Special Effects] Fixed an issue in which the special effect when Exotic Sidearms: Concerto reaches full stacks would not display fully.
- [Weapon Display] Fixed an issue with the display of weapons’ Power screen.
3. Environment & Model Issues
- [Environment Models] Fixed an issue in which the lamp posts in Haven would disappear.

- [Activity Screen] Fixed an issue in which the Matchmaking feature behaved abnormally.
- [Chat] Fixed an issue in which private messages would not be sorted by “Latest.”
