Gunzilla Games, the studio behind Web3 shooter Off The Grid, has officially kicked off its mainnet migration in Europe, marking a historic first for onchain gaming as GUN becomes the EU’s first Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation-compliant gaming token.
According to the Gunz Ecosystem Report for August 2025, the studio started moving players onto the mainnet on Sept. 16, 2025.
The shift establishes the first fully regulated onchain gaming economy in the European Union, setting a new precedent for how Web3-native AAA gaming can operate within a compliant framework.
The MiCA milestone cements GUN as the trusted currency across the ecosystem, enabling regulated exchange listings, unlocking institutional partnerships and laying the groundwork for broader mainstream adoption.
Console migration is already in progress, with submissions to platform holders underway.
The rollout will continue with the Galxe Starboard launch, featuring additional GUN rewards and OpenSea Wave 4+.
Even before migration kicked off on the mainnet, mutual users for Off The Grid and the GUN ecosystem have minted over 7 million non-fungible tokens (NFTs), with marketplace volume growing up to 11.1 million GUN traded on OpenSea by 62,498 unique holders.
On the testnet, the Gunz ecosystem reached over 872 million transactions, with over 18.7 million unique wallets created and the number of daily transactions surpassing 2.25 million.
