Cling to Blindness, a horror game developed by Lizardry, the person behind Refind Self: The Personality Test Game and 7 Days to End with You, has almost completely ditched graphics in favor of sound design.
Despite that, Lizardry is still urging people to play the game with blindfolds on, and never to remove them unless the game instructs them to do so. They also clarified that while it is a horror game, there will be no jump scares, and it will only rely on sound-driven horror.
The game’s Steam Page simply describes the objectives: Never take off your blindfold, do not let Ahioto catch up to you and collect all five talismans. The developer estimates the play time to be around an hour to an hour and a half.
Since the game relies heavily on sound design, Lizardry strongly recommends that players use headphones. The Steam page lists that the game’s full audio is available in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese and Korean, which means that non-Japanese players should be able to play the game despite the game’s Steam trailers only featuring the Japanese voices of the game.
Cling to Blindness is expected to release in October, according to a Steam news post. For now, the game will only be available on PC, with no news regarding other platforms.
