A new trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Zombies was revealed on the official YouTube channel of the Call of Duty franchise on Sept. 16, 2025.
The events of the cooperative round-based Zombies mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 occur after an epic battle atop the Project Janus headquarters, when the Requiem crew of Grigori Weaver, Elizabeth Grey, Mackenzie “Mac” Carver, and Maya Aguinaldo have been teleported to a mirrored version of Janus Towers’ plaza within the Dark Aether dimension, where they encounter alternate incarnations of Edward Richtofen, “Tank” Dempsey, Nikolai Belinski, and Takeo Masaki. Moments later, the soldiers are confronted by a mysterious figure, who drains life essence from both crews and dispatches waves of zombies, forcing the two groups to work together to survive and fight their way out of the plaza.
Co-developed by Treyarch and Raven Software and published by Activision, the 22nd installment of the franchise and the eighth main entry in the Black Ops sub-series is slated for release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC on Nov. 14, 2025.
Besides the Zombies mode, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 also features a narrative campaign, just like previous Call of Duty titles, along with a multiplayer component.
Set in 2035, ten years after the events of 2012’s Call of Duty: Black Ops II, the game’s story follows JSOC Commander David “Section” Mason and his team of agents, codenamed Specter One, as they investigate the apparent return of deceased Nicaraguan terrorist Raul Menendez and his threat to burn the world in three days.
In Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Mason’s unit includes operatives Mike Harper, Eric Samuels, and Leilani “50/50” Tupuola, as well as Colonel Troy Marshall, who oversees JSOC’s Tier 1 operations.
Notably, besides Specter One, the investigation of Menendez is being carried out by a former criminal organization, The Guild, which turned into a technology corporation led by CEO Emma Kagan.
