On Sept. 16, 2025, Zenless Zone Zero announced its Hollow Vanguards program, which is its version of closed beta testing regarding features that are not yet available in the live version of the game. The recruitment period will last from now until Sept. 22, 2025.
“To better iterate and optimize our game quality, we cordially invite all Proxies to join the Hollow Vanguards program,” HoYoverse said. Proxies are what Zenless Zone Zero players are called in the game. The developers also added that they will only recruit a small number of people.
HoYoverse also added that the test content the players will experience in the closed beta environment won’t be representative of the final product. Needless to say, players lucky to enter the program will have to sign a confidentiality agreement, and won’t be allowed to take screenshots, stream it or take videos of the closed beta.
To prevent account sharing or information leaking, HoYoverse has limited the test environment to the first device logged in on each platform. “Each HoYoverse account can only log in to one PC device, one Android device, and one iOS device. Switching to a different device on the same platform will trigger automatic account suspension.”
The developers are also discouraging players from changing PC hardware, reinstalling operating systems, upgrading phone system versions and even factory resetting the player’s device, as this can result in suspension too.
Zenless Zone Zero is a free-to-play action RPG from HoYoverse released in 2025. The game is available on a number of platforms, which include PC, mobile and consoles.
