Escape from Tarkov finally landed on its Steam page ahead of the title’s full release, set for Nov. 15, following an 8-year-long closed beta which started on July 27, 2017.
According to the special Steam FAQ posted on the game’s official online hub, players who already own the title through the Battlestate Games launcher or website will need to buy Escape from Tarkov on Valve’s platform once more.
After purchasing the game on Steam, players can link it with their existing Battlestate Games account. If the editions of the linked versions differ, the higher edition of the two will automatically be used when launching the game through Steam.
Notably, the purchase of Escape from Tarkov on Valve’s platform will require a Battlestate Games account.
Set in the fictional Norvinsk region of northwestern Russia, in the midst of a war between two private military companies, United Security (USEC) and the Battle Encounter Assault Regiment (BEAR), Escape from Tarkov features three different modes: online PMC raids, scavenger raids titled Scav, and a temporary offline training mode without progression or loot gains.
As of the time of writing, developed and published by Battlestate Games studio and playable on Windows PC only, Escape from Tarkov has over 2.3 million monthly active users and around 282,000 daily players, according to ActivePlayer.
