The first worldwide tournament event for the NBA and NBPA licensed mobile streetball game Dunk City Dynasty was revealed by the title’s developer, NetEase.

The Dunk City Dynasty Global Championship will feature a prize pool of $100,000 and span seven major regions: North America, Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia, Mainland China, the Philippines and Taiwan/Macau/Hong Kong.

The first stage of the championship is registration, which opened on Sept. 12, 2025, and will continue until Oct. 12, 2025, for participants from Mainland China. For the rest of the regions, registration also opened on Sept. 12, 2025, but will continue processing applications only until Sept. 25, 2025.

As for the qualifiers, for the Mainland China region, qualifiers will be held from Oct. 23 to Oct. 26, 2025. Teams registering for the qualifiers will be randomly assigned to one of eight groups, each participating in a four-day, best-of-three, single-elimination tournament. The top team from each group will advance to the regional finals. The champion of the 2025 Summer DCD Champion Cup will receive a direct placement in the finals. Eligibility for the qualifiers requires an account with a historical rank of at least Peak Superstar (50 Stars).

For the Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan region, qualifiers will take place from Sept. 27 to Sept. 28, 2025. A total of 32 teams will be divided into eight groups to compete in a best-of-three, single-elimination format, with one team advancing from each group to the regional finals. Eligibility requires teams to have reached a peak rank of Peak Superstar (50 Stars) or higher in Ranked Match during either the current season or any of the three preceding seasons. Registration is limited to 32 teams. If applications exceed this limit, priority will be given to teams based on the highest combined star count of their three starting players.

For the global region excluding Greater China, qualifiers will run from Oct. 2 to Oct. 5, 2025. Registered teams will be randomly divided into eight groups and compete in a four-day, best-of-three, single-elimination bracket. The top team from each group will advance to the regional finals. Teams must select the corresponding region according to the nationalities of all team members. There are no rank restrictions for accounts participating in the Open Qualifiers.

The regional finals must be played on mobile devices only, and the use of external peripherals, shoulder buttons or any assistive equipment is strictly prohibited. The regionals will be fully broadcast.

The Mainland China regional finals will take place from Nov. 1 to Nov. 2, 2025. The eight advancing teams will be randomly paired to compete in a best-of-five, double-elimination bracket. The winning team will secure a place in the Dunk City Dynasty Global Championship 2025 Finals in Shanghai.

The regional finals in the Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan region will be held from Oct. 11 to Oct. 12, 2025. The eight teams advancing from the first round will compete in a best-of-five, double-elimination bracket, with the grand finals played as a best-of-seven. The champion team will be invited to represent the region at the finals in Shanghai.

For the global region excluding Greater China, the regional finals will take place from Oct. 11 to Oct. 12, 2025. Eight advancing teams will be drawn into matchups through a random draw and compete in a best-of-five, double-elimination bracket. The top two teams from the Europe region, the top two teams from the North America region, the top team from the Southeast Asia region, the top team from the Philippines and the top team from the Latin America region will qualify for the Dunk City Dynasty Global Championship 2025 Finals in Shanghai.

The Global Finals will take place from Nov. 21 to Nov. 23, 2025. Ten of the world’s strongest teams will clash in three days of offline battles.

In the group stage, 10 teams will compete for eight available slots in a single round-robin, points-based format. Teams from the same region will not be placed in the same group.

In the elimination stage, the eight advancing teams will face off in a double-elimination bracket.

Dunk City Dynasty offers a 3v3 mode with three-minute, 11-point games and 5v5 full-court clashes with two three-minute halves and the objective of reaching 21 points.

As of the time of writing, the game has a 4.7-star rating out of five based on 36,300 reviews on the Google Play Store US, with over 1 million downloads, and a 4.8-star rating out of five based on 28,800 reviews on Apple’s App Store US.
