The first free test for the extraction first-person shooter EVE Vanguard kicked off on Sept. 16, 2025. The event, titled Operation Nemesis, will continue until Oct. 2, 2025.
Following 2013’s Dust 514 shooter, EVE Vanguard is a second attempt by CCP, the developer and publisher behind the EVE franchise, to create a first-person shooter directly connected to the world of EVE Online.
EVE Vanguard is set within the vast star cluster of New Eden, where players assume the role of the immortal warclone, a technologically enhanced mercenary, who gets deployed onto different hostile worlds following the missions of his choice.
Operation Nemesis is a World Event in EVE’s universe that takes place simultaneously in both EVE Online and EVE Vanguard. Players of the latter are recruited by the factions of New Eden and the secretive Deathless Circle to disable Upwell defenses, push back Mordu’s Legion and recover valuable secrets hidden across the combat zone.
As of the time of writing, EVE Vanguard is playable on PC only, available via the EVE Launcher.
EVE’s extraction shooter is in the early stages of development, according to its website, while the game’s Steam page cites Q3 2026 as a release period.
