Key points

  1. Team Falcons won its first TI trophy after defeating Xtreme Gaming at TI 2025.
  2. Skiter and Sneyking are now two-time TI champions.
  3. With the win, Team Falcons took home $1.1 million.

Team Falcons finally secured its first Dota 2 The International trophy just two years after the team’s creation. The win made Oliver “Skiter” Lepko and Jingjun “Sneyking” Wu two-time TI champions, while the other three members, Stanislav “Malr1ne” Potorak, Ammar “ATF” A-lAssaf and Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen, claimed their first.

The team had a slow start compared to their eventual grand final opponent, Xtreme Gaming. For comparison, Xtreme Gaming’s group stage had a perfect 4-0 record, while Team Falcons went 3-2, which means they had to play in the elimination round.

Team Falcons won their elimination round against Team Spirit, their grand final opponent at the Esports World Cup 2025, sending the latter home. In the playoffs, they had to fight against Team Tidebound, BB Team and Pvision to punch their ticket to the grand final.

Xtreme Gaming, on the other hand, fell to the lower bracket after a defeat from Pvision, where they had to fight BB Team and Pvision to claw their way back to the grand final to fight Team Falcons.

The International’s 2025 grand final was a rollercoaster for both sides. One-sided games were apparent, with Xtreme Gaming taking the first one, followed by a win from Team Falcons. Xtreme Gaming then followed with another beating, putting them on series point.

Team Falcons had some fight left in them, however, and beat the team in just 33 minutes, the fastest game in the grand final series. The win forced a decider match, which turned out to be the longest game in the series. It ended after 58 minutes, with Team Falcons coming out on top.

The win gave Team Falcons around 42% of the prize pool, which is equivalent to $1.1 million. Xtreme Gaming took home only 13%, or around $350,000.
