On Sept. 13, 2025, the developer of Shape of Dreams announced that more than 100K copies of the game have been sold. The developers thanked their fans and said, “This is only the beginning, and we look forward to shaping the dream together with you.”
Shape of Dreams is a co-op roguelite that features eight characters and eight maps. Players can choose between Lacerta, Mist, Yubar, Vesper, Aurena, Bismuth, Nachia and Shell and build them freely.
The Steam description of the game mentioned that players can “Mix & Match over 150 memories and essences,” which would determine the kind of build the player is doing with the character. Additionally, the developers made it a point to mention that “no single ‘best build dominates’.”
The developers also pointed out that the game can be played solo, saying that it will be “tight, skill-based gameplay for lone warriors,” while co-op squads of up to four will be more on the “synergistic chaos” side.
Shape of Dreams was released on Sept. 11, 2025, for the PC via Steam. Within its first few days, the game garnered an all-time concurrent player peak of 45,773 players, an impressive feat for a game that was released between two goliaths: Hollow Knight: Silksong and Borderlands 4.
