Metroid Prime 4: Beyond‘s Dec. 4, 2025 release date was officially revealed during the Nintendo Direct that occurred on Sept. 12, 2025, with preorders for the title now available. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is slated to launch on both Nintendo Switch consoles; the trailer shown during the direct utilized gameplay from the Switch 2 iteration of the title.
The Switch 2 version of the game costs $69.99, while the Nintendo Switch 1 version costs $59.99; these figures do not include tax. The single-player title’s file size is estimated to be 28.9 GB for both versions.
For the first time, Sammus is shown riding a motorcycle – this marks a stark contrast from the bounty hunter’s usual preferred method of traveling as a sphere. In Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Sammus finds herself on the unknown planet, Viewros, which is characterized by its ancient forest greenery. While exploring the planet, Sammus gains mysterious psychic powers, serving as tools to survive against the sharpshooting Sylux.
The game’s direct predecessor, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, was released in 2007 for the Nintendo Wii. It has reportedly sold over 1.4 million copies since its initial launch.
