Destiny Rising Weekly Patch Adds Two New Characters: Estela and Umeko

Destiny Rising weekly patch update on Sept. 11, 2025, added two new characters, Estela, Ahamkara Bane, who debuted as a mythic, while Umeko, The Kunoichi is a Legendary character. The Destiny Rising patch update also marks the beginning of The Sun’s Shadows limited-time draw event, lasting for 28 days after its release. The Mythic character draw is guaranteed to be Estela, while the legendary characters available are Kabr, Kora, and Umeko.
Here are the character attributes for the new releases:
I. New Characters
1. Mythic Character: Estela, Ahamkara Bane
- Element: Solar
- Role: Offense
- Weapons: Pulse Rifle, Machine Gun
- An eternally itinerant Lightbearer, Estela was revived carrying an Ahamkara bone, and part of the wish dragon’s consciousness, still clinging to the remains, connected with her when she was resurrected. This gives her strange supernatural powers, but also causes her many auditory and visual hallucinations.
2. Legendary Character: Umeko, The Kunoichi
- Element: Void
- Role: Support
- Weapons: Scout Rifle, Sniper Rifle
- In her past life, Umeko was an Awoken who left the Reef for Earth. She died when her ship was attacked entering Earth’s orbit and crashed into the sea off the coast of East Asia. Her Ghost, Kara, revived her on the Japanese island of Shikoku.
Destiny Rising Benediction Day begins the day of the patch, so the day of writing: Sept. 11. It lasts until Oct. 4, and celebrates the most important holiday of the year in Estela’s hometown, according to the official patch notes.
During the event, players can collect Crystalline Sprouts to receive blessings and thereby acquire a random discount on Estela’s “Daught of Spirng” ornament. An exclusive The Benediction Day Shop will debut during the span of the event, requiring Crystalline Blossoms as a currency to trade for “Daughter of Spring” and other effects, emotes, and emojis.

Season 1, Season of Daybreak Starts
- Season Duration: After the maintenance on 9/11 – 11/6 at 04:00:00 (UTC-7)
- Seasonal Modifier: Once the season starts, the seasonal modifier will be changed to Void and Solar. Combatants in The Expanse, Calamity Ops, and Challenge difficulty activities will have Void and Solar shields. Void and Solar characters and weapons are recommended.
- Seasonal Pact Available: The S1 Pact, Haven Crest, grants Lightbearers powerful enhancements. Once the season starts, every 20,000 Team XP gained grants 1 Pact Point, which can be used to upgrade the enhancement.
- Season Engrams Available: S1 Season of Daybreak Engrams will now be available for Lightbearers to acquire and decrypt. Season of Daybreak Engrams contain multiple season-exclusive cosmetics, including “Crystalline Mystery,” the Furies III seasonal ornament, Daybreak Decals, and more.
- Seasonal Collection: Acquire all collectibles available during Season of Daybreak to receive the season-exclusive “Daybreak” emblem and unlock the Season Sigil for your Homepage.

- [Iron Bar] Fixed an issue in which entering the Iron Bar from the Practice Range would result in abnormal weapon damage.

The Destiny Rising Gauntlet Onslaught begins on Sept. 19 at 9 am PDT. For Week one of the event, pay-to-win advantages are disabled to ensure fair play; the mode is a competition pitting teams of six against one another to compete for the fastest clear time.
The previous patch update added character ability adjustments for Xuan Wei and Tan-2. During early September, Destiny: Rising reportedly rose to the top of both the iOS App Store and Google Play Store, according to the official social media account for the mobile game.
