Borderlands 4 Debuts Globally

The first-person looter shooter Borderlands 4 launched globally on Sept. 11, 2025.
The sequel to 2019’s Borderlands 3 and the fifth entry in the main Borderlands series landed on PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S, with a Nintendo Switch 2 release planned for Oct. 3, 2025.
The game comes offering two gameplay modes: solo or co-op, allowing players to team up with up to three others, along with new vehicles and traversal tools, including a grappling hook.
The story of Borderlands 4 unfolds as Pandora’s moon, Elpis, destroys the protective barrier of a planet named Kairos after being teleported away by Lilith using her Siren powers.
In Borderlands 4 players assume the role of one of the Vault Hunters, who must lead the resistance against a ruthless dictator named the Timekeeper and his army of synthetic followers named the Order on Kairos while searching for secret alien treasures.
As of May 2025, the Borderlands franchise has sold approximately 93 million copies worldwide, according to Take-Two Interactive’s latest financial report.
