Key points
- AMD’s Adrenalin Edition 25.9.1 update adds drop-in support for FSR 4.
- This update expands FSR 4 compatibility to 85 games, limited to RDNA 4-based Radeon 9000 series GPUs.

AMD’s latest Adrenalin Edition 25.9.1 update added drop-in support for FSR 4, meaning AMD’s new technology is implemented through a driver update rather than requiring developers to patch each game. The update added FSR 4 compatibility to 85 total games, but is limited to RNDA 4-based Radeon 9000 series GPUs.
To enable FSR 4 support, the user must update their drivers and switch to FSR 3.1. After doing so, they must toggle FSR 4 within the Adrenaline software; the feature is only compatible with DirectX 12 games that use an official FSR 3.1 DLL. Therefore, games running on Vulkan or those that use non-standard methods, such as third-party plug-ins, are unable to utilize the FSR 4 driver upgrade.
FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4) is AMD’s latest technology for upscaling and frame generation in video games. The technology is marketed by AMD as a significant leap forward from previous iterations, utilizing an AI-based upscaling algorithm to improve image quality, temporal stability, and detail preservation while reducing artifacts like ghosting.
