Launched on Sept. 4, 2025, the game hit a peak of 558,012 concurrent players on Steam that day and then surpassed it on Sept. 5, 2025, reaching a new record of 562,814 concurrent players.
Priced at $19.99 / €19.99, the sequel to 2017’s Hollow Knight was released on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and Steam Deck, along with Windows, Linux, and macOS PCs.
On top of that Hollow Knight: Silksong dropped on Microsoft Gaming’s subscription service, Xbox Game Pass, on its release day and became available for members of the Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscription plans.
Developed and published by Team Cherry, Hollow Knight: Silksong follows Hornet, the princess-protector of Hallownest, as she embarks on the adventure in a new kingdom filled with over 200 different foes and more than 40 bosses, according to the title’s release trailer.
