On Sept. 5, 2025, Konami announced in a press release that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater had sold 1 million copies. The game was released on Aug. 28, 2025, for the PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a remake of the award-winning game Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The original creator of the series, Hideo Kojima, is not involved in the remake of the game.
Konami describes the remake as retaining the original game’s charms while also including improvements on combat, as evident with “wounds, burns, and bullet holes displayed in real time, ensuring a thorough pursuit of realism.”
Additionally, a new third-person perspective has been added. Konami mentioned that this was included because of the “generation accustomed to newer games, providing an overwhelming sense of immersion and realism.”
Konami has also done some sort of a console exclusive with the game, with PlayStation 5 and PC players receiving “Monkey-Snake Battle” and the Xbox Series X|S version including a “Bomb-Snake Battle” game within Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. The press release also reminded fans that the online battle mode Fox Hunt will be released in fall 2025.
