Survival horror Cronos: The New Dawn was released worldwide for Windows and macOS PCs, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S on Sept. 5, 2025.
Developed and published by Bloober Team, the game, played from a third-person perspective, centers around the Traveler, an agent for an organization known as the Collective, as he must survive a futuristic wasteland and travel back in time to Poland in the 1980s to extract selected people who did not survive the Change, a cataclysmic event that turned humans into monsters known as Orphans.
One of the game’s core features is corpse-merging foes, meaning that if defeated enemies are not properly disposed of using fire, a surviving enemy will merge with the undead corpses, creating a hardened, more difficult version of the same enemy.
As of the time of writing, Cronos: The New Dawn has a 76-point rating for the PC version, a 77-point rating for the PlayStation 5 edition and an 80-point rating for the Xbox Series X port on Metacritic, based on 34, 61 and five critic reviews, respectively.
Cronos: The New Dawn comes priced at $59.99 for the standard edition and $69.99 for the deluxe edition, which includes 1x Core Resource, 8x Pistol Ammo, 3x Shotgun Ammo, 2x Small Health Packs, 1,500 Energy, two unique armor skins, a digital artbook and a soundtrack along with the base game.
