On Sept. 3, 2025, PUBG Mobile announced that the upcoming patch, Version 4.0 Sppoky Soiree update, is coming to the game. The new update will add a new themed gameplay mode, new “epic collaborations and more surprises, according to the developers.
The patch notes they published contained quite a bit of information regarding the changes that will be coming to the game. However, the highlight of the patch is the upcoming themed mode, the Spooky Soiree, where players will have a ghost friend that follows them during the match.
Various skills will also be available for the players to use during the game mode. The developers also note that “all content will be available on Erangel and Livik. Rondo will only feature Ghostie, Prankster Ghosts, and the Magic Broom.”
Changes will also be implemented in the classic mode, namely the addition of a new weapon called the Mortar. As it suggests, it’s a lightweight mortar that players can use to shoot special explosive ammo. Players can choose between two firing modes, which include aiming directly at targets within their line of sight or using the map to strike outside of it.
There are a lot of other changes in the lengthy patch note that the developers have published. Ranked mode changes have also been implemented, as well as some changes to the game’s general performance.
PUBG Mobile was released back in 2018 for mobile devices. The game was developed by LightSpeed Studios and PUBG Studios.
