Hollow Knight: Silksong launched globally on Sept. 4, 2025 and joined the roster of Xbox Game Pass titles.
The game’s launch presumably crashed Valve’s Steam and Nintendo’s eShop for a couple of minutes.

The game became available on Xbox Cloud, Windows PC via the Xbox app, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S for members of the Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscription plans.
Besides Xbox, priced at $19.99 / €19.99, Hollow Knight: Silksong also dropped on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Steam Deck, along with Windows, Linux and macOS PCs.
Developed and published by Team Cherry, the sequel to 2017’s Hollow Knight allows players to assume control over Hornet, the princess-protector of Hallownest, as she embarks on her next adventure in a new kingdom filled with over 200 different foes and more than 40 bosses, according to the title’s release trailer.
Hollow Knight: Silksong’s release prompted lots of indie studios to reschedule the launch of their titles in order to avoid releasing too close to the so-called Grand Theft Auto VI of indies.
