On Sept. 4, 2025, the Co-founder and CEO of Dreamhaven, Mike Morhaime, announced via LinkedIn post that layoffs had happened at the company. He clarified that the department primarily impacted by the layoffs was the publishing side of the company.
Morhaime added that he understood the layoffs to be at such a bad time, saying that “we recognize that this comes at a time when far too many in our industry are facing similar challenges,” likely referring to massive layoffs that have happened in the video game industry this year.
He also added that the company will be supporting those who were let go with separation packages and benefits coverage. They have also partnered with Amir Satvat’s Games Community “to connect them with career transition resources and mentorship.”
Lastly, Morhaime reaffirmed the company’s commitment to “bringing players together through positive and meaningful experiences,” citing Wildgate, Sunderfolk, Lynked and Mechabellum as products that “reflect that vision.”
