Gears of War: Reloaded reached 1 million players in three days after its global launch on Aug. 26, 2025, according to a post on the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the series.
Developed by The Coalition and published by Xbox Game Studios, an enhanced version of the very first title in the franchise, based on the 2015 Ultimate Edition of the 2006 original installment, landed on Windows PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The title joined Xbox Game Pass and became available on Windows PC, Xbox Cloud and Xbox Series X|S for members of Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscription plans on its launch day.
Gears of War: Reloaded features 4K resolution, remastered textures, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), enhanced post-processing effects, High Dynamic Range (HDR), improved shadows and reflections, super-resolution with refined anti-aliasing, along with support for Dolby Vision and immersive 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos sound, as well as 7.1.4 3D Spatial Audio.
The game’s developer assured that there will be no loading screens during the campaign, along with smooth gameplay at 60fps in the campaign and up to 120fps in multiplayer.
As of the time of writing, the franchise’s first release on non-Xbox consoles, Gears of War: Reloaded, has a “Mixed” rating on Steam with 1,503 reviews.
