Nikita Buyanov, the director of Escape From Tarkov, announced in an X post that the game will be available on Steam soon. Buyanov did not mention a release date; however, he said that it “will be available soon.” Additionally, he also mentioned that details will follow later.
Escape From Tarkov’s director has been teasing a Steam release of the game since Aug. 31, 2025, when he uploaded a GIF of an old man holding a clothes iron while pressing a button that lets out Steam. The subtle announcement was quickly picked up by players, seeing the comments immediately talk about a Steam release.
Recently, Escape From Tarkov announced that it will exit its beta state on Nov. 15, 2025, essentially marking its full release. It was announced just last month on Aug. 21, 2025, and it wouldn’t be surprising for the game’s Steam release to be somewhere between the two dates.
Escape From Tarkov is a PvPvE extraction shooter, which is pretty popular for its difficulty and ruthlessness when it comes to its gameplay. The game is only available on PC and was initially released in 2017 in closed beta.
