Web3 extraction shooter Reaper Actual went live with its head, former general manager of Amazon Game Studios San Diego and Sony Online Entertainment and Daybreak head John Smedley, giving players a first look at the game.
Created by Distinct Possibility Studios the game also has in its development team PlanetSide 2 creative director Matt Higby and PlanetSide 2 senior art director Trammel Isaac (who also made art for the original Fallout games).
Reaper Actual features extraction-based combat inspired by Escape From Tarkov, base-building mechanics, both PvP and PvE elements, large-scale sieges with up to 200 players involved, and vehicle combat, along with crafting and trading mechanics.
As for Web3 features, in-game items like skins, weapons, and bases can be tokenized as NFTs.
The studio aims to release the game in early 2026, followed by a planned transition to a free-to-play model six months after launch. Notably, as of the time of writing, the title’s Steam page cites “To be announced” as the planned release date.
