Warhammer 40k: Space Marines 2 Anniversary Update Adds New PvP and PvE Modes, Year 2 Updates Teased

The Warhammer 40k: Space Marines 2 Year 2 trailer was revealed on Aug. 28, teasing the upcoming content for 2025 and 2026. Black Templars and Imperial Fists champion and cosmetic packs are scheduled to release on Sept. 4, as a part of Patch 10, which also releases new PvE missions, a new PvP Mode: Helebrute Onslaught, and more. The details can be found in the image below. 

Here is the new content marketed for Warhammer 40k: Space Marines 2 Year 2 Battle Plan:

• 4 new Operations & a new Siege map
• 3 new Eternal War arenas
• New Stratagems (PvE) and Helbrute Onslaught (PvP) game modes
• New playable class: The Techmarine
• New weapons and free unlockable weapon variants for existing weapons
• New enemies and bosses
• New Progression mechanics

The Sept. 4 update is the much-anticipated Anniversary Update, debuting a new Champion skin for the Bulwark class and Power Sword skin, and “over 40 new cosmetics celebrating 7 of the Imperial Fists’ Successor Chapters,” according to the official update blog. Though there is paid content with the first two DLCs, the anniversary update is free, debuting the Chaos Armor Pack, which happens to be the featured image for this article. 

Helbrute Onslaught: New PvP Game Mode

Warhammer 40k: Space Marines 2 Patch 10 adds Helbrute Onslaught, a new PVP game mode playable on all maps. In the game mode, players fight to control strategic areas. The first team to win control over an objective gains control of the Helbrute until the enemy team succeeds in overtaking it. Only one player can control the Helbrute at a time. 

The Helbrute wields Thunder Hammer in melee and Plasma Cannon in range, with an additional ability of unleashing a battle cry, which regenerates its HP. Though the Helbrute provides a significant combat advantage, defeating it grants a lot of points towards the team.

Strategems: New PvE Game Mode

This PvE game mode has two difficulty modes: Normal and Hard. The game mode has varied Battlefield Conditions, differing every day and week, making each operation unique. 

Upon completing Battlefield Conditions, the player receives a new currency called “Accolades,” which can be exchanged for rewards.
