Key points

  1. The latest Peak update gives people with low-end hardware a chance to play the game.
  2. A Photosensitive Mode was also added to the game.
  3. Last week, Peak’s sales reached 10 million copies.

On Aug. 28, 2025, the developers of Peak patched the game to include more graphic options for players with low-end hardware and unsupported graphics cards, with the biggest change to it coming in the form of being allowed to run the game using DirectX 11.

In addition to this, players can now lower the texture quality of the game, which is very important for players with low VRAM. Low frame rates can be fixed just by lowering the texture quality of the game, but also expect that the graphics will also be heavily affected.

A Photosensitive Mode was also added to the game for people who have an aversion to flashing lights and dramatic screen effects. Toggling this on will result in the following:

  • Dynamite, Flare, and Scout Cannon lit fuse effects are less flashy.
  • Screenshake is lessened.
  • Bright lights from the dynamite explosion are disabled.
  • Fullscreen VFX from taking various sources of damage are less intense and more gradual.
  • Fullscreen VFX from the Energy Drink, Lollipop, and Heat Pack are less intense.

The patch also states that the maps Alpine and Mesa will now alternate every other day. The developers also mentioned that a secret entrance in Mesa will now be open 50% of the time instead of 25%.

Peak has been celebrating a good amount of success since it was released in June 2025. The game’s sales reached 10 million copies last week.
