Microsoft announced on Aug. 27, 2025, that Xbox Insiders who are subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Core or Standard now have the freedom to use Xbox Cloud Gaming. Previously, only those who were subscribed to the Ultimate tier could use the aforementioned feature.
This means that Game Pass subscribers can now stream their owned games and use any devices that can potentially support the Xbox app as long as they reside in a region that supports the feature.
The press release mentioned that subscribers can now “stream cloud playable games included with their subscription or select cloud playable games they own, making it easier to jump in from any supported device.” Take note of the part where Microsoft mentioned that subscribers can now stream their own games, as this is a feature that was added quite recently to the Xbox Series X|S and the Xbox One.
Additionally, this feature is only available for Xbox Insiders, meaning those who aren’t part of the program won’t be able to take advantage of this. Luckily, it’s as easy as downloading software called Xbox Insider Hub, which is enough to qualify people for the program.
