Uboat launched out of a six-year-long early access for Windows PC on Aug. 2, 2024, and is now slated for release on PlayStation 5 on Sept. 17, 2025.
Set in World War II, developed by Deep Water Studio and published by PlayWay, Uboat is a survival sandbox submarine simulator with crew management mechanics. It tasks players with taking care of their sailors’ needs and keeping morale high, along with patrolling deep waters, laying mines and ambushing convoys.
The game emphasizes realism and features multiple intricate simulation mechanics, like historic torpedo calculators, Earth curvature on the horizon and ballast simulation across compartments.
The title is playable in Polish, English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Turkish, Czech, Portuguese, Japanese and Ukrainian.
As of the time of writing, Uboat has a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, based on 22,639 reviews.
The submarine simulator has neared 1 million copies sold on PC only.
