Hitman: World of Assassination received a port for Apple’s macOS, iPadOS, and iOS devices on Aug. 27, 2025.
Besides iPhones, iPads, and Mac PCs, the title is also available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, along with multiple headsets in VR mode.
Concluding the story arc started in 2016’s Hitman, the game follows genetically engineered assassin Agent 47 and his allies as they hunt down the leaders of the secretive organization Providence, which controls global affairs and was partially responsible for 47’s creation and upbringing.
Developed and published by IO Interactive and launched on January 20, 2021, as Hitman 3 the game is the eighth main installment in the Hitman video game series, the sequel to 2018’s Hitman 2, and the third title in the World of Assassination trilogy.
In January 2023, IO rebranded Hitman 3 as Hitman: World of Assassination, with the contents of the previous two Hitman titles becoming available to Hitman 3 owners, free of charge, along with a new roguelike game mode called “Freelancer”, which is set after the Hitman 3 epilogue.
Hitman: World of Assassination, sold over 25 million copies globally, and features about 80 million logged player accounts (including free starter pack users).
