The developers of the retro-futuristic action platformer game Replaced have settled on a release window of spring 2026. The game was first revealed in 2021, with it supposedly being released in 2022, but it was delayed a few times.
Its first delay was first announced in May 2022, revealing that the studio behind the game, Sad Cat Studios, is a Belarusian-based studio with developers from both Ukraine and Belarus. “The continued war in Ukraine has heavily impacted the development of Replaced, as most of the team resides in the neighboring regions,” the studio mentioned.
Then, in May 2023, the studio made another announcement saying that the game is further delayed to 2024, saying that the studio “can’t afford to release a sub-par game.” The studio also mentioned that Replaced is its first title. In 2024, the developers made a similar statement, revealing that they are now targeting a 2025 release window.
Sad Cat Studios’ latest announcement said that they are finally close to finishing production, and the game will be available on PC and Xbox Series X|S in spring 2026. Additionally, influencers like Parris have received a preview build of the game, allowing them to play the game early.
