Key points
- Capcom released a new challenger screen for Kimberly and will hand them out for free.
- This is a result of a recent fiasco that happened in its latest art competition.
- There have been two art competitions held by Capcom at the time of writing this article.
On Aug. 26, 2025, Capcom released a new challenger screen for the Street Fighter 6 character Kimberly, after the previous winning entry was removed due to its utilization of AI. The new challenger screen will be available to everyone for free.
Capcom’s new challenger screen is based on Kimberly’s newest outfit, her swimsuit, which, according to a press release, “has been earning rave reviews from the community.” This screen will be added at the same time as the others from the recent art competition.
On July 25, 2025, Capcom announced that it is removing a winning entry from the competition, saying that the entry used generative AI, which is against the contest’s rules. While the company did not mention which entry it was, the community had been sounding the alarms on a Kimberly artwork back then.
Now, by releasing a new Kimberly art, Capcom has indirectly confirmed that the community was right in notifying everyone that a generative AI artwork has infiltrated the competition. The community also accurately identified that it was the Kimberly art that broke the rules.
Capcom usually holds art contests like this to give the community a chance to have their art featured in the game as a challenger screen. As of writing, there have been two art competitions held by the company.
