The Esports Awards announced Riot Games as the Esports Publisher of the Decade, with Sanghyeok “Faker” Lee earning PC Player of the Decade. T1, the team Faker played on for over ten years, earned Team of the Decade, with Worlds 2017 having earned Esports Live Event of the Decade. T1 coach Jeong-gyun “kk0ma” Kim earned Esports Coach of the Decade, having helped lead T1 to win worlds on numerous occasions.
Riot Games, in regards to esports, is best known for League of Legends and Valorant Esports, with League of Legends having set the precedent for various other esports in the industry. The 2017 Worlds event showcased previously unprecedented hologram technology during the live event, during which Elder Dragon stormed the stage. The event amazed the world and set a new standard for esports events from then on.

T1 has won the most World Championships in the League of Legends esports realm, with Faker having participated in every winning year. Faker and T1, within League of Legends esports, have amassed five League of Legends World Championships. No other team in League of Legends has won Worlds more than once, although Samsung White and Black, which are separate teams, both won Worlds once.
The Esports Awards held a special Decade Awards ceremony to celebrate the award ceremony’s 10th anniversary. The event took place during the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with millions of fans having cast their votes.
