Key points
- Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault enters early access on Oct. 23, 2025.
- As such, the game will be released on PC first, and the console release will follow later.
- The developers want feedback regarding the game, which is why they’re doing the early access move.
At Gamescom 2025, Digital Sun and 11 bit studios announced that their upcoming roguelike game, Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, will launch in Early Access first on Oct. 23, 2025, but only for PC. This means that release for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will be later.
The developers mentioned in the YouTube description of the trailer that crafting the game “into its final form takes time,” and that one of the reasons why they’re holding the Early Access is for players “to get an early taste of the journey.”
They seem to be very keen on feedback, as they also said on Steam that they will learn from the way players interact with the game, and even invited players to join their Discord server for them to be able to talk to them directly.
The developers added that in the game’s early access, players will be able to explore three unique biomes, sell over 120 relics in their shop, use four main weapons, and be able to discover around 100 perks to enhance their runs.
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault was announced back in December for the PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game has switched over from its pixel art graphics in exchange for an isometric view and 3D graphics.
