- Monster Hunter Wilds will receive the crossover event a bit earlier than Final Fantasy XIV.
A large collaboration between Monster Hunter Wilds and Final Fantasy XIV was recently announced at Gamescom 2025, which started on Aug. 20, 2025. The event will be a crossover of the two games, meaning that certain elements from each game will be present in the other.
On Monster Hunter Wilds’ side, one of the most iconic animals of Final Fantasy, the Chocobo, will be available as a Seikret skin. The accompanying trailer also shows a Cactuar, another creature from the Final Fantasy franchise.
However, the biggest addition would be the arrival of Omega Planetes, a raid boss from Final Fantasy XIV. The trailer did not reveal a lot regarding the monster’s moveset in Monster Hunter Wilds, but if its raid from its game of origin is to take from, players are going to have to learn the difference between larboard and starboard.
For Final Fantasy XIV, players will get the same treatment. The trailer showed players being able to ride Seikrets, interact with a new Palico and even face off with Monster Hunter Wilds’ flagship monster called Arkveld.
This isn’t the first time the two franchises have collaborated. Back in Monster Hunter: World, the game added Bahamut from Final Fantasy, and even an armor set that resembles the Dragoons, which is even better for Insect Glaive users, as they get access to a kinsect that looks like a spirit dragon.
Final Fantasy XIV also received some of Monster Hunter: World’s goodies such as a Rathalos raid that has a chance to drop a Rathalos mount, or tokens players can use to exchange for one. A palico was also added to the game.
Monster Hunter Wilds will get the collaboration a bit earlier, which will arrive in late September. Final Fantasy XIV players won’t have to wait for a long time, as they will receive the crossover in early October.
