Paradox Interactive has finally revealed the release date of Europa Universalis V, and it’s coming on Nov. 5, 2025. The developers have also announced the DLCs that will be available after the release of the game.
Europa Universalis V will feature “detailed diplomacy, a more sophisticated economic model, a revised military system and greater logistical depth,” according to the developers. Those who had the chance to play the game early, like IGN and GameSpot, have all agreed that the new installment seems to be much harder than its predecessors.
The game will also have four DLCs, which will be released periodically. The first one is called Sacred Sites, releasing on Nov. 4, 2025. The next one is the Fate of the Phoenix, followed by Across the Pillars and The Auld Alliance. They will be released in Q2 2026, Q3 2026 and Q4 2026, respectively.
Europa Universalis V is the much-anticipated sequel to Europa Universalis IV, which was released back in 2013. The Europa Universalis franchise is widely considered by a lot of fans to be one of the most complicated strategy games around.
