Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 campaign mode supports four player multiplayer all the way through until the last mission, after which it becomes a PvE 32 player battle. Players can still complete the campaign solo start to finish. For solo play, the devs communicated that they prioritized the experience in a way where they can experience the campaign their own way.
“We’ve crafted this as an inehrenetly social mode that features the amazing linear Call of Duty missions that our community loves,” Yale Miller, Senior Director of Production at Treyarch said in the co-op campiagn trailer.
The campaign is marketed to have large mission variety, with stealth driven objectives, high intensity combat, and “deeply psychological” sequences that supposedly challenge the players’ view on reality. Avalon is the main narrative anchor for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, but the campaign brings the players far beyond its borders.
The end game is marketed as a proving ground to put everything the players learned to the test, providing a brand new PvE social experience. Each run features “unexpected enemies,” potentially randomized instances, requiring cooperation with the player’s squad to survive. All of Avalon opens up, letting players turn the map into their playground.
