Grounded 2 surpassed the mark of 3 million players, according to a post on X (formerly Twitter) from Aaron Greenberg, the Vice President of Marketing at Xbox, on Aug. 13, 2025.
Co-developed by Obsidian Entertainment and Eidos-Montréal and published by Xbox Game Studios, the sequel to 2022’s Grounded was launched in Early Access on July 29, 2025, for Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S.
Set in Brookhollow Park, a fictional suburban park with a visual design inspired by the early 1990s, the game allows players to assume the roles of children who have been shrunk to the size of insects and find themselves in an overgrown public park, trying to survive in cooperation with other players.
As of the time of writing, Grounded 2 has a “Mostly Positive” rating on Steam with 10,095 reviews and an all-time peak of 49,836 players, according to SteamDB.
Notably, the game preview of Grounded 2 became available for members of Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
