The title’s devs promise that, following the transition, console players will see improved visuals and more stable frame rates, while ongoing crash issues are expected to be reduced through memory-related optimizations.

It is worth noting that, besides consoles, the game is playable on Microsoft Windows PC.

Developed by Krafton’s PUBG Studios and published by Krafton, PUBG: Battlegrounds allows up to 100 players to fight in a battle royale, entering the match solo, in a duo or with a small team of up to four people, with the last person or team standing alive winning the match.

As of the time of writing, PUBG: Battlegrounds has a “Mixed” rating on Steam with 2,590,918 reviews and an all-time peak of 3,257,248 players.

Notably, as of July 2025, PUBG: Battlegrounds has sold over 88 million copies worldwide across PC and console platforms since its launch in 2017. This figure does not include the free-to-play mobile version, PUBG Mobile, which, as of July 2025, has generated over $11 billion in revenue since its release in March 2018.
